EBONYI STATE PROTESTS TURNS BLOODY AS YOUTHS CLASH WITH FIRE SERVICE OFFICIALS.

Angered by failure of officials of Ebonyi State Fire Service in Abakaliki, to quell the inferno that gutted a 17-room apartment and eight shops, in the capital city, angry youths numbering over 200, on Thursday, clashed with officials of the service, resulting to vandalisation of vehicles belonging to the Fire service.
The incident, which occurred at a building located at No 13, Awolowo Street, close to the headquarters of the service, in Abakaliki, led to the destruction of properties worth millions of naira.
Findings by the Nigerian Tribune indicated that the clash ensued when officials of the service arrived at the scene of the incident without water, after several hours of delay, resulting to the inferno destroying items which included refrigerators, electronics, furniture and other household properties, and eight shops attached to the building.
“Five private vehicles parked at the premises of the building were smashed by the angry mob, which was embittered over the inferno.
The disaster started at about 9:00 a.m., caused by suspected electrical fault.
In an interview, one of the victims, Michael Nkwegu, revealed that there was power outage in the area, located very close to the office of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).
He further maintained that when electricity was restored, there was a loud noise from the roof and smoke followed suit, “in a short while, fire engulfed everywhere and we started seeking for way to put it out,” he added.
Nkwegu called on the government and public spirited individuals to come to their aid.
A motorcycle was also burnt by the mob that was unhappy that the fire service officials could not come to the rescue of the victims.
Residents of the area had marched to the fire service office located along Water works road to register their grievance over the attitude of the officials.
But for the quick intervention of policemen, there would have been breakdown of law and order as the protest later turned violent, following a clash between the officials and the protesters.

SOUTH-AFRICA FINALLY PAID NIGERIA BACK WITH EVIL AS 50 NIGERIANS AFFECTED IN XENOPHOBIA.

The Nigerian Union in South Africa has said it has concluded arrangements to resettle 50 Nigerians affected by the ongoing xenophobic attacks.
The President of the union, Ikechukwu Anyene, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on phone from Pretoria, South Africa, on Saturday.
Mr. Anyene said the Nigerians were displaced at Jeppes Town, near Johannesburg.
“We met about 300 Nigerians in Jeppes town, near Johannesburg, who fled for their safety and about 50 of them do not have any place to stay.
“We are making arrangements with the Nigerian mission in South Africa to get them a place to stay for their safety.
“The Nigerian union has also presented relief materials to those affected by the attacks and we are in touch with various branch chapters of the union in the provinces on their safety and security,’’ he said.
According to him, Nigerian shops and businesses in Durban and Johannesburg have been looted and some burnt.
He said that two shops belonging to Nigerians in Durban were looted and they lost goods worth 400,000 Rand.
“In Jeppes Town, near Johannesburg, five shops were looted and one burnt while the estimated loss is put at One million Rand.
“The incidents have been reported to the police and we are still taking stock of attacks on Nigerians,’’ he said.
Mr. Anyene reiterated the union’s call to the Federal Government to put more pressure on the South African government to halt the attacks.
The Nigerian foreign minister had however claimed on Thursday that Nigerians had so far not been attacked, saying it would only evacuate Nigerians only if the situation gets worse.
“With the discussions I have been having with Nigeria’s Head of Mission in Pretoria, no Nigerian has so far been affected,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali said Thursday in Abuja.
”They informed me that they have called the Nigerian community and addressed them and told them to close their shops, stay home and keep out of trouble and obey the laws of South Africa.
“They have also confirmed that the South African authority has moved in to take actions that would forestall any further disturbance in South Africa,” Mr. Wali said.
Mr. Wali said it will move to evacuate Nigerian citizens if the xenophobic attacks get worse.
“If it gets worse it is the duty of our country to make sure our people are brought back, and we are taking that duty serious.
”We are not prepared to allow any of our nationals to be subjected to such inhuman treatment.
“We are monitoring the situation and will now take action according to the situation that develops,” he said.
Xenophobia in South Africa dates back to 1994 and are mainly targeted at citizens of other African Countries.
In May 2008 a series of xenophobic attack left 62 people dead.
In the current attack, at least five people have been killed and hundreds forced to flee their homes in one of South Africa’s worst outbreaks of xenophobic violence in years.

WARNING!!! STOP USING MOBILE PHONES INSIDE TOILET AND BATHROOM.

Using your phone in the bathroom can spread serious illnesses, and the problem is only becoming worse as people use handheld devices more and more. From tweeting, to putting up Instagram posts, making comments on facebooks and even answering calls, people use their phones for a good number of reasons in the bathroom.

In a recent study of mobile phone habits of 1000 people by Wtop.com, about 75 per cent of those questioned admitted to surfing the web, using apps, emailng and texting while in the toilet – with more than 90 per cent saying they had returned calls. Are you guilty of this? If yes, here are some reasons you should stop this habit:

1. Anything that you intend on taking out with you, into the environment, probably shouldn’t be accompanying you into the bathroom. That goes for electronic devices, that goes for food, and that also goes for anything that you might be sharing with people. – Huffington Post

2. According to a U.K.-wide study by scientists from the London School of Hygiene and Topical Medicine and Queen Mary University of London, one in six mobile phones was contaminated with E. coli bacteria. Fecal bacteria and viruses like the flu can survive on someone’s hands and on surfaces for hours, especially in warm temperatures away from sunlight. – CBC

3. The use of a cellphone without either washing your hands or cleaning off the device with an alcohol wipe could lead to a “cumulative effect of bacteria”. – Huffington Post

4. Smartphones, keyboards and tablets are even more contaminated than toilet seats, said a study by U.K. watchdog Which? in 2013.

5. Any place where people are touching their bodies, then an inanimate object, with their hands without washing – they are potentially transferring bacteria or viruses to the objects – Sunshine Coast Daily

So, next time you want to take your phone to the bathroom, or use someone’s phone who has just taken it to the bathroom, you should remember these points!

Stay safe.

FINALLY T.Y DANJUMA CONFESSED NIGERIA COMMITTED GENOCIDE AGAINST BIAFRANS.

Some Igbo leaders, yesterday, blasted former Chief of Army Staff, General Theophilus Danjuma (retd) over his comments that if former Biafran Leader, late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, had conceded defeat quickly during the 1967-1970 civil war like President Goodluck Jonathan did after the 2015 presidential polls, Nigeria would have been saved one year of bloodshed.Danjuma spoke on Wednesday shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Jonathan, who visited him at his Abuja residence. He said the President averted civil war in the country by timely conceding defeat and congratulating Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a move he said Ojukwu failed to make and thereby causing the country avoidable blood shed.

Coming at a time the Igbo are still seething over Oba of Lagos, HRM Rilwanu Akiolu’s threat that Igbo living in Lagos would drown within seven days in the Lagos Lagoon, if they did not vote his governorship candidate in tomorrow’s election, Danjuma’s comments elicited caustic criticisms.

Reacting to Danjuma’s comments yesterday, some Igbo leaders accused him of ridiculing the president, insulting Ojukwu and continuing the genocide against the Igbo by other means.

Among those who berated Danjuma are former Secretary-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and officer in the Biafran Army, Col Joe Achuzia; Second Republic Politician, Chief Guy Ikokwu; botched Third Republic Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife and former Deputy National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Abia Onyike.

He is no longer strong mentally –Ezeife

Piqued at the comments, Ezeife said: ‘’I know Danjuma is not very well. So I am not surprised.’’

Igbo will respond – Ikokwu

Alleging that Danjuma killed Nigeria’s first military Head of State, General Ajuiyi Ironsi (an Igbo), Ikokwu said General Danjuma will get a full response after the elections because by talking about Ojukwu, he is talking about the South-East and South-South geo-political zones, which constituted most of the former Eastern Region and later the defunct Biafra.

His words: ‘’I don’t think we should take issues with Danjuma until after the elections. Jonathan went to him and not him to Jonathan. We shall respond to him.’’

Danjuma’s comments confirm the genocide against Igbo – Achuzia

In his reaction, Col Joe Achuzia said: ‘’I am happy that my friend Danjuma owned up that there was bloodshed and pogrom against the people of Biafra. I don’t understand what he meant by Ojukwu conceding defeat. If the Federal Government had implemented the Aburi Accord, the bloodshed would have been avoided.

‘’Ojukwu believed in Aburi as the road map for peace at the time of the crisis but the Federal Government reneged on the agreement reached in Ghana. One does not concede defeat half way into a battle. Doing that would have amounted to cowardice. I don’t know where Danjuma got the idea of Ojukwu not accepting defeat from. He has little knowledge of the intricacies of the war. He didn’t even know the terrain of the Enugu that he talked about. If the necessities of capitulating were there, why did the war last for three years? I fought the war for three years and I know that the necessities were not there. Sometimes people talk for talking sake.

‘’The President’s visit to him was a private one and he should not have used that opportunity to insult all that Ojukwu stood for. To say publicly that the President was defeated was even a mockery of the President. It does not portray the President in good light. Of course what he said was an insult on Ojukwu. His reference to the fall of Enugu is laughable because the war was just starting then. Which military officer will surrender in that kind of situation even before firing a bullet? When some people make wrong comments on the civil war, I wonder what often inform their judgement. Ojukwu was a General and was right on all the decisions he took in the interest of the Igbo.’’

His comments ‘re diversionary – Onyike

In a chat with newsmen in Abakaliki, Onyike, one-time commissioner for Information and Orientation in Ebonyi State, said it was most unpatriotic of Danjuma to make such comments at this point in the country’s political history.

He alleged that Nigeria’s problem now is not from the Ndigbo but from Danjuma’s North-Eastern zone occasioned by the Boko Haram and Hausa/Fulani herdsmen insurgency, insisting that the General’s comments were mere diversionary tactics deployed to denigrate the integrity of Ojukwu.

Onyike said: “In the first place, it was Danjuma that backed the spilling of the blood of the Igbo, with the killing of Aguiyi Ironsi in Ibadan in 1967 and we want to say that Danjuma belongs to the group of Army Officers who led the gruesome genocide and massacre of over three million Igbo during the Nigerian civil war.

“We want to say that the problem with General T. Y. Danjuma is mainly psychological because at a time when some of them felt that they had become great statesmen and patriots for presiding over the attempted extermination of the Igbo, unfortunately for them, the Igbo people survived and have come to assert themselves and their identity in the Nigerian federation.

“Secondly, a twist emerged in the Nigerian scene where people like Danjuma and the minority group where he comes from in the Northern have been subjected to the same gruesome murders by militant elements of the same northern oligarchy which they serve, and to that extent Danjuma cannot go to his village.

“So, let him go and resolve that problem first because when Ojukwu was making them understand the nature of the Nigerian federation and the dangers inherent in the politics that was emerging, Danjuma preferred to be a surrogate. So let him stop using the Igbo to hide his inadequacies.”

B*O*M*B*S*H*E*L*L VOTE APC OR YOU ALL WILL PERISH IN LAGOS-OBA OF LAGOS.

Igbo living in Lagos were told on Sunday to vote for the governorship candidate of All Progressives Progress (APC), Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, or else, they will die in the lagoon.
A livid Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, said he was not ready to beg them but if they repeat what they did on March 28 when they voted for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Goodluck Jonathan, then they should be ready for the consequences.
The governorship election holds on April 11 and it is believed the Igbo will vote for the PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje.
Speaking at a meeting with Igbo leaders in the state, the first class monarch said: “On Saturday, if anyone of you goes against Ambode who I picked, that is your end. If it doesn’t happen within seven days, just know that I am a bastard and it is not my father who gave birth to me.
“Jonathan is my son and I speak to him everyday. By the grace of God, I am the owner of Lagos for the time being. This is an undivided chair. The palace belongs to the dead and those coming in the future. On Saturday, if anyone of you, I swear in the name of God, goes against my wish that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos State, the person is going to die inside this water.
“I’m not ready to beg you. Nobody knew how I picked Ambode. Jimi (Agbaje) is my blood relation and I told him that he can never be governor in Lagos for now. The future belongs to God. I am not begging anybody, but what you people cannot do in Onitsha, Aba or anywhere, don’t do it here. If you do what I want, Lagos will continue to be prosperous for you. If you go against my wish, you will perish in the water”.
The monarch said anybody against Ambode does not wish the state well. “‎I am for the progress, growth and development of Lagos. Ambode is highly cerebral, he’s a symbol and he is going to deliver the message which I, the Oba of Lagos, have said. And he will govern the state for another eight years. He is going on a mission and God will give him the wisdom and knowledge to fulfil that mission. Almost a year ago, I declared that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos and it will not change. From time immemorial, the previous occupiers of this house will say what they wanted after consultation with other people. And this hasn’t changed and it will not change at this time.
To him, the present crisis Nigeria is facing was not caused by the Goodluck Jonathan administration but by another person he refused to name.
“If not for the appeal from Asiwaju (Bola Tinubu) and my highly respected maternal father, the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode, all what is happening today is not the cause of the present government. The man who caused everything knows himself”.
In his response, the Eze-Ndigbo of Amuwo-Oriade, Dr. Gordian Dimojiaku, said Igbo in Lagos would support Ambode.
“The mistake of last Saturday was caused by everybody, not only the Igbo. It is not only the Igbo that were responsible for the votes. But we have learnt our lesson. Saturday’s election is going to be a different thing and Ambode is going to win. Everybody knows that when you fail the first time, you cannot afford to fail again. We are going to tell our people that Ezes from the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas are here and that we have sworn with the Oba that w‎e are going to make sure that Ambode wins next Saturday’s election.‎”

SHOCKING OPEN LETTER TO GEN BUHARI BY A HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST.

I am a born dogged and objective human right activist,I hate marginalisation, I hate cheating and I rise against it.
You cheated Goodluck Jonathan, made his government ungovernable as you promised after 2011 presidential election without any apology, you painted him in a bad light, incited the Nigerian people against him, ganged up against him simply because he's of the minority as you called him all for the natural resources God blessed them with, while you called yourself born to rule, you cut short their mandate simply because you desperately want to be in-charge of the resources in their soil.
Put yourselves in their shoes, if such is done to you will you like it? Will you accept it?
President Jonathan gave you people everything that he never gave to the south, can you imagine that his state of origin Bayelsa state doesn't have an airport of their own,not to talk of good roads, Jonathan gave the North all just for peace to reign, how did he offend you? He filled his cabinet with the north and west just for peace to reign and you stabbed him in the back. Whosoever that rewards evil for good, my bible told me that evil shall NOT depart from his house both you and all that support and supported you and worked towards your gang up.
God will visit ALL of you that truncated their mandate with your sins, to your 100 generation born and unborn.
Truthfully, I commend President Jonathan's peaceful nature, the fact I gathered is that he got tired of seeing people killed & kidnapped simply because of the position he's occupying which you're desperately seeking for that was why he hurriedly congratulated you not that he's weak or feeble or doesn't know how to use incumbent power to make and to mare.
President Goodluck Jonathan, God who created Heaven and Earth, man and woman who deposited oil in your land will avenge you.
I want to categorically state that as a human right activist that I am, if by tomorrow they decides to take the bull by the horn, I will gallantly support them with everything within me and I enjoin anybody who hates injustice, marginalisation, deprivation, servitude & hatred to please throw in the towel because I tell you, if the oil reserves in our region was to be in the North,I bet you, they would have sacked us before we say jack.
Now I see reason(s) behind the actions and in actions of Dim Odimegwu Ojukwu and all our heroes past and may their souls seize from turning in their graves.
ALUTA CONTINUA, VICTORIA ASCERTA!!!

ASARI DOKUBO ISSUES FRESH THREAT SAYS YORUBA AND HAUSA UNITED AGAINST BIAFRANS.

Mujahid Asari Dokubo, an ex-militant who threatened to unleash violence on the country if President Goodluck Jonathan lost his re-election bid, has threatened a return “to the creeks” and accused the Yoruba and Hausa of working against
Igbo and Niger Deltans.

He denied saying he was in support of any government in power, despite a tweet on his handle, @asaridokubo , on Tuesday. He did not disown the handle but said he was yet to congratulate any winner of the presidential and parliamentary elections.
