NAFDAC STORMED ANAMBRA N500m WORTH OF FAKE DRUGS DESTROYED.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, yesterday in Awka destroyed fake, substandard and expired drugs worth about N500 million.

Director General of NAFDAC, Dr Paul Orhii, who led security operatives at the destruction exercise, explained that most of the drugs were expired products voluntarily surrendered to NAFDAC by drug traders at the famous Head Bridge Market in Onitsha.

Among products destroyed were antibiotics, anti inflammatory, anti-diabetics, anti malarial and drugs for gastric ulcer.
